Welcome to our digital archive of Esther Inglis’ Octonaries upon the Vanity and Inconstancy of the World, originally published in 1607. We are very excited to welcome Inglis into the canon of Renaissance Women Writers and we hope that our archive helps to solidify her place there.
Following Inglis’ example of using mixed media, we have brought together text, research, and various images in our edition of her work. This blog makes Inglis’ phenomenal calligraphic writing accessible to a wider (geographically and chronologically!) audience. It also, hopefully, serves to preserve her work for future readers and scholars.
